Sorry Skyrim lovers, the RPG is now officially old

Beloved RPG Skyrim can now officially be considered old, as it hits PC gaming’s most popular storefront for classic games. GOG (or Good Old Games) announced Skyrim would be coming to the platform celebrating the storefront’s 14th anniversary. Still one of the best RPGs around, Skyrim’s original release and its updated Anniversary Edition are available to buy all over again – both with hefty discounts. “After many years and lots of requests from our users, Skyrim, the fifth installment of The Elder Scrolls franchise, is live on GOG,” the platform…

The Oculus Quest 3’s design and specs may have already been leaked

Meta is set to finally showcase its Project Cambria VR headset on October 11, but the company’s other Quest 2 successor, the Oculus Quest 3, may have been leaked. With the Oculus Quest 2 proving a huge hit, Meta announced that it was working on two follow-up devices. The first is Project Cambria (believed to be called the Meta Quest Pro), and will almost certainly debut at Meta Connect 2022, if Mark Zuckerberg’s teasers are to be believed. This premium VR headset will boast eye-tracking and mixed reality capabilities (meaning…

As Google Stadia dies, spare a thought for its fantastic controller

The sudden announcement of Google Stadia’s death may have been a shock, but it certainly wasn’t a surprise. Since its 2018 launch, Google Stadia struggled to find a large audience, which was only made worse by Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now dominating the space.  Whether it was the business model that killed it, or a general lack of interest, Stadia’s death was arguably on the cards long before it had a chance to make a name for itself. Google Stadia may have been the problem child in the…

Two of the best PS5 exclusives all but confirmed for PC thanks to leaks

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is definitely coming to PC, and another leak points to a Returnal release for the platform too.  It looked like Sackboy: A Big Adventure was heading to PC after an anonymous listing gave the game away a couple of weeks ago. And that’s now official, with the PlayStation Latin America account uploading a – currently unlisted – trailer for the title. Sackboy: A Big Adventure will be launching on PC on Thursday, October 27 according to the trailer description. And it seems like it’ll be joined…

In a year of delays, this stomach-turning horror FPS will release early

After months of major gaming delays, one upcoming horror FPS is bucking the trend by releasing a whole week earlier than expected. Following a downright gross gameplay reveal two years ago, and another reveal during Summer Game Fest, twisted shooter Scorn will release on Friday, October 14. You’ll be able to hop into its twisted world of biomechanical abominations seven days earlier than previously thought.  Developer Ebb Software hasn’t given a reason for the new release date, but has dropped a (suitably creepy) new trailer announcing the change – you…

Breaking: Google is shutting down Google Stadia

Google has announced that it is shutting down its game streaming service Google Stadia on January 18th, 2023. For now players will be able to access their Google Stadia game libraries, but come mid-January they’ll lose access to those titles – though the Stadia controller should still work as a wired controller for non-Stdia PC games. Thankfully, in the official blog post about the shutdown Phil Harrison, Google’s Vice President and General Manager of Stadia, said that Google will be “refunding all Stadia hardware purchases made through the Google Store,…

One of the best PS5 games may be coming to PC

New leaks suggest third person shooter Returnal may be coming to PC sooner than you might think. The game has been a PlayStation 5 exclusive since its release in 2021, but we may see it on our PCs in the near future. If this is the case, we will see a familiar pattern of Sony releasing its games onto PC a year or two after original release in the same vein as Spider-man Remastered and Horizon: Zero Dawn.  The leak originates from a thread on Icon Era, which claimed to…

Skull and Bones release date delay isn’t all bad news

Ubisoft has announced yet another delay for its swashbuckling action-adventure game Skull and Bones – but it’s not all bad news.  Skull and Bones‘ release date has been pushed back to March 9, 2023, but Ubisoft has announced an open beta to smooth things over. In the past month, some PC players (including me) got into a playtest with a very strict NDA, but the open beta will throw open the doors for everyone and presumably across platforms.  We were expecting Skull and Bones to release on November 8, so…

Meta’s original Oculus Quest is getting an update two years after being scrapped

Three years after launch, and two years after it was discontinued and replaced by a newer model, the Oculus Quest will finally be getting the hand tracking 2.0 update.  That’s right – the precursor to Meta’s hugely popular VR headset, the Oculus Quest 2, hasn’t yet been forgotten by Meta, with the Oculus Quest update set to land in October (via Upload VR).  Hand tracking 2.0 (which came to the Quest 2 earlier this year) will upgrade the original Quest’s existing capabilities by making its cameras and software better at…
